Alex Almaraz aka Swift began training in Hip-Hop dance at the age of 13. His dance training consists of Hip-Hop, House, Locking, Salsa, Chicago Footwork, Modern and other various dance forms. He is also an educator and teaches people Hip-Hop as an action to create social change within their community. Alex since 2011 was apart of Versa-Style Dance Company, a Hip-Hop theatre company and Non-profit organization that served the lower income and underserved communities of Los Angeles. Their mentorship has helped him use his dance to steer away from his harsh community which led him to pursue his education. Alex now graduated from UCLA obtained his degree in Dance and is now pursuing his love for Arts in correctional facilities, after school programs, and battles. He wishes to give back to his immediate community while training, battling, and performing. Also a solo artist Alex has been featured at Highways performance space, Redcat, Electric Lodge and various prison and juveniles halls to present his piece A Tattooed Man and Street Feet. He continues to be apart of his community where he regularly attends Hip-Hop battles, events, and practices where Alex trains and works on his craft. While he's not teaching, Alex is usually training and looking to educate himself more on various dance cultures and dance forms.
